Dina's family is from Western Victoria Gunditjmara and Wergaia and her father is from New Ireland in Papua New Guinea. She grew up in Tamworth and moved to Sydney in 2003. She has been living and studying nursing at UTS ever since. Dina started painting in year 12 and a lot of the artwork she does is based on current Indigenous issues that affect her and the community. A lot of her inspiration is drawn from her work and experience with Indigenous health.

INSIGHT
By Dina Saulo
This artwork was named Insight because our ancestors always have an eye on us, watching and protecting us.
Even though towns and cities are built on this land it does not weaken the power of the spirits that inhabit it. It only clouds and diverts our attention to other things.
So as you educate yourself in other ways you need to be sure to find a balance that will allow you to become grounded by taking every opportunity to educate yourself about your own culture. You need to apply it's principles to everyday life and you can become successful in your field whilst also paving a way for those that have a desire to achieve.
