External Indigenous scholarships
There are a number of Indigenous scholarships which can be awarded to students in any university in NSW and/or nationally. Some are dedicated to study in particular disciplines or courses, such as health, education, law etc.
The list provided here may not represent all available scholarships. A database of scholarships is available for Aboriginal and Torres Starit Islander undergraduate and postgraduate students
Indigneous Access Scholarships (IAS) (opens an external site)
- for Indigenous Australians entering higher education, particularly those who need to relocate from rural and remote areas to access university.
- valued at $4,080, this is a once in a lifetime payment, paid in two instalments at and after the commencement of semester.

The RSL Captain Reg Saunders Scholarship
The Sally White/Diane Barwick Award (opens an external site). This is awarded by Aboriginal History. The award of $1,000 is awarded annually to a female Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander tertiary student who is about to start or is already studying at honours level. The award can be used for any purpose. Candidates are invited to apply in writing at any time for selection in April of the following year. See Aboriginal History website.

Warren Tertiary Scholarship Scheme (opens an external site) (Health Science students from Warren Shire, NSW, not necessarily Aboriginal)
Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships (opens an external site) (These are not specifically for Indigenous scholarships but they do fund students to study overseas for a year. Students must undertake some activities for Rotary)
